06/13/2025 - Users with area restirictions, new shortcuts (Release Note 2.59)
Updated
New features and improvements
Users with area restriction
It is now possible to restrict the view of Areas for a user. As a result, the user will only see the Areas for which they have permission, as well as any Areas that are hierarchically above them.
The area restriction can be assigned to any user (A, B, C) and any person with read only access in the user settings (similar to the permissions for Trades).
For users with area restrictions applied, the following applies:
The button to edit areas is hidden, so the complete area structure remains concealed.
In the filter menu of the Process Plan and the Daily Board, only the areas with permissions and their parent hierarchy levels are displayed.
In the filter of the To-Do List, only the areas that are authorized can be selected—others are grayed out.
If a global filter includes areas outside the user’s permissions, only the permitted areas will be displayed regardless.

Area Attachments: In the preview field of area attachments, a PDF icon is now displayed if the attached document is in PDF format.
Split Screen – Milestones: When hovering over a milestone in the split screen view, a tooltip now appears showing more detailed information.
Sidebar: It is now possible to scroll within the sidebar (Process Plan menu).
Dependencies
Select whole process chain: This way it is easier to move a complete process chain, when the start date has changed for example
SHIFT + Click on process
Select connected chain behind a process: All following processes that are connected to a process are selected which helps to solve conflicts manually or correct buffer time slots.
SHIFT + CTRL + Click on process (windows)
or SHIFT + CMD + Click on process (mac)
Import & Export
Process Export – Excel: You can now determine the status of a process in the Excel export using the two columns "Progress" and "Status".
The "Progress" column indicates whether a process is completed (1) or still open (0). The "Status" column shows the current status of the process (open, completed, overdue, delayed, in progress). Previously, only the distinction between open and completed was available.
Import from MS Project: When uploading an empty .mpp file, a message is now displayed explaining the reason for the failed import.
Usability
The project link can now be shared more easily by either copying the URL directly or by clicking the "Share project link with invited users" button in the user settings.
