The visual planned vs. actual comparison is used to look directly at changes in the project. In the case of delays, this enables a more direct and faster response.
This article summarizes the following:
Baseline settings
First, a planned status with baseline data must be selected for the project:
-
Click on the arrow next to the project name, then select ‘Baseline’.
-
From the list, select the desired baseline schedule as the planned status – for example, the Contract schedule.
-
Now switch the view to ‘Baseline’.
-
At the top right you can see which baseline you have currently selected.
View of Baseline
-
For each area, the baseline data is displayed above.
-
In the area sidebar on the left, you will see the label “Baseline” or “Current”.
-
Processes in the baseline are displayed in gray as long as the end date matches the current plan.
-
The process color turns red when the actual end date is delayed compared to the baseline. The number of days delayed is displayed directly on the process.
-
The process turns green when the end date is moved earlier in the actual plan.
-
In the tooltip, you can quickly see the planned vs. actual dates and the delay in days.
-
If an entire area ends later than in the planned status, the number of delayed days is shown in both the sidebar and the collapsed area bar.
- You can also use the planned vs. actual comparison with collapsed areas.
Filtering Baseline
You can filter for earlier or later processes in any view.
-
Click on the Filter menu.
-
For example, filter for processes that were completed ahead of schedule.
-
You can also filter specifically for processes whose delay exceeds a certain number of days.
