The whiteboard is like a blank sheet of paper on which you can think through and plan process sequences - as easily as with sticky notes. Easily create and save process chains for entire areas or just sections of areas - either before you start detailed process planning or at any time during the process. You can then use the created standard sequences again and again to fill your process plan.

Create, rename or delete whiteboards
- Open the Whiteboard tab.
- Click on an existing whiteboard in the area to open it.
- Alternatively, click on Create new whiteboard (top right), give it a name and then open it.
- You can add further whiteboards in this way.
- To rename or delete a whiteboard, click on the arrow next to the whiteboard name in the top center.
- Now select “Delete whiteboard” or “Rename whiteboard” and confirm with “OK”.
- If you have opened a whiteboard and want to return to the overview, click on the arrow in the top left-hand corner.
Create and edit standard areas
- Drag processes or milestones from the list of trades directly onto the whiteboard to create a standard area automatically
- Alternatively, you can first create a standard area by clicking on the list of standard areas and clicking on “New standard area” at the bottom. The default area will then automatically appear in the top left-hand corner of the whiteboard.
- If you want to move the standard area or change its size, first click on the name line. Now you can move the area freely or change the size using the black dot (in the bottom right-hand corner).
- You can change the name or delete the area completely by doing this either directly on the area in the whiteboard or alternatively in the standard library via the three dots.
Create process chains in the whiteboard
Compared to the process chains in the process plan, the process chains in the whiteboard have the advantage that they are not yet assigned to a specific date.
- Open the list of trades and drag a process or milestone into the standard area. Repeat this as often as you like to create a process chain.
- Move the processes and milestones freely.
- You can change the name of a process or milestone by double-clicking on it.
- You can set the duration by clicking on the process and then dragging it shorter or longer by holding down the left mouse button. If you switch from “Workshop” to “Plan” (top left), day lines become visible which make it easier to set the duration.
- Alternatively, you can open the “Schedule” function in the right-hand side menu to set the start time and duration manually.
- Copy processes or process chains and insert them in any area. Use the SHIFT key to make multiple selections
Tip: Organize the creation of the process chains as a workshop together with the executing companies. As all admins and users in the project can work in parallel on the whiteboard, it is possible to use pull planning or Last Planner together.
Transfer process chains from the whiteboard to the process plan
- To transfer the process chains created in the whiteboard to a specific area of the process plan and thus assign a date to the process chains, first open the process plan.
- Now open the “Library” via the right side menu and find all the standard areas created in the open whiteboard.
- Now simply drag and drop a standard area to the desired position in the process plan.
- Repeat this as often as you like to create your schedule in a matter of seconds.
Add process chains from the process plan to the standard library
As an alternative to creating standard areas in the whiteboard, you can also add existing process chains in the process plan to your process library so that they then appear in the whiteboard.
- Select the desired processes in the process plan. Use the SHIFT key to make multiple selections.
- Click on “Add to library” to create a new standard area with the selected processes in the list of standard areas.
- Open the list of standard areas to view and reuse the newly added area.
FAQ
Q: Can I hide trades that have already been used on one whiteboard on other whiteboards?
A: You can create a standard area called 'Trade list' on the whiteboard where you can store processes for different trades. If you need a process for a specific trade, simply select it and paste it into your workspace using the shortcut keys CTRL+C (copy) and CTRL+V (paste). Alternatively, you can add a prefix such as 'ZZ_' to separate trades for phase planning. This ensures that these trades always appear at the end of the trade list and are less conspicuous later on.
You also have the option of deleting trades from the trade list using the three dots on the trade. If a process of this trade exists in a standard process, the process is then no longer assigned to a trade and is grayed out.
Q: Is it possible to display vertical grid lines at the milestones on a whiteboard to improve the overview?
A: To display vertical lines on the whiteboard, you can do this via the 'PLAN' view by showing day lines.
