What is a Fragnet Step?
A Fragnet Step marks an activity on site, which can have a trade, a company, a duration and manpower/a team assigned. All activities on site can be divided into Fragnet Steps as their smallest work packages.
Fragnet Steps can be added to a project in the OPA, the TA and the PP. In this order the Fragnet Steps get further properties. This article explains how to create Fragnet Steps and which possibilities of editing they have in the different phases of a creating a project.
Create a Fragnet Step
Creating a Fragnet Step is explained in the OPA, but works exactly the same in the TA and PP. A Fragnet Steps is created with help of the trade panel, you can get further information about the trade panel in the corresponding article.
1. Select one of the Trades on the Trade Panel and drag and drop it into the desired cell in a Zone Type’s Fragnet.

General properties of a Fragnet Step
Change the name of a Fragnet Step
1. Select the Fragnet Step and press ENTER.
2. An editing window will appear in which the name of the Fragnet Step can be edited directly. By pressing ENTER again, the window will disappear, and the Fragnet Step has been renamed.

Edit a Fragnet Step
1. Select a fragnet step from the grid.
2. Click on the edit symbol
in the tool bar.
Alternative: Double click on the corresponding fragnet step.

3. Type the name of this Fragnet Step, representing the activity.
4. Optional: Provide a description for the fragnet step.
5. Optional: If needed, change the trade the fragnet step is assigned to.
6. Click on “Save” to save the information and proceed

Select multiple Fragnet Steps
1. Use the left mouse button to drag a rectangle around the Fragnet Steps of interest.
2. After releasing the mouse button, the fragnet steps are selected and can be edited via the tool bar.
Alternative: Click with pressed CTRL key on the fragnet steps of interest.

Copy/Cut and paste Fragnet Step
Option A:
1. Select the Fragnet Step/s.
2. Press the key combination CTRL+C (Copy) or CTRL+X (Cut).
3. Select the cell in which the copied Fragnet Steps should be pasted.
4. Press the key combination CTRL+V.

Option B:
1. Select the Fragnet Step/s.
2. Click on the copy symbol
or the cut symbol
in the tool bar.

3. Select the cell in which the copied Fragnet Steps should be pasted.
4. Click on the paste symbol
in the tool bar.

Move Fragnet Steps
Option 1:
1. Move one or multiple Fragnet Steps in the grid via Drag&Drop.

Option 2:
1. To move all Fragnet Steps from a certain point to the right, click on the shift right symbol
.

2. To move all Fragnet Steps from a certain point down, click on the shift down symbol
.

Remove Fragnet Steps
1. Select the Fragnet Step/s.
2. Click on the remove symbol
in the tool bar.
Alternative: Press the DELETE key.

Add a comment to a Fragnet Step
Comments can be added to Fragnet Steps to provide additional information, for example the final decision of the project memebers about the position of this Fragnet Step.
1. Select the Fragnet Step to which the comment should be added.
2. Click on the comment icon
on the toolbar.

3. Type in the comment.
4. Click on “Save” to save the information and proceed.

5. The comment symbol appears on the Fragnet Step to which the Comment was added.
6. Note that the symbol appears only after the first 3 zoom levels. Zoom using the zoom in tool to view the comment symbols.

Add an action item to a fragnet step

Adjust the font size of a Fragnet Step
1. Select one or more fragnet step(s) of which you want to change the font size.
2. Click on the "Decrease font size"
button to decrease the font size gradually.
3. Click on the "Increase font size“
button to increase the font size gradually.

Create Links between Fragnet Steps
1. Select the Fragnet Steps that represents the predecessor.
2. Turn on the toggle button to turn on “Manage Links” mode (it turns green when it is on).

3. Click on the Fragnet Step that represents the successor.
4. Turn off the manage links mode when links are created.

represents the predecessor.

represents the successor.

Fragnet Steps in the TA
Change the duration of a Fragnet Step
Option 1:
1. Select the Fragnet Step.
2. Click on the edit icon
in the toolbar.
Note: Alternatively, double click on the fragnet step.

3. Change the duration.
4. Scroll down and click on “Save” to save the information and proceed.

Option 2:
1. Move the mouse pointer to the right or left edge of the desired Fragnet Step until the mouse pointer changes from
to
.
2. Press the left mouse button and drag the Fragnet Step at the same time to the left or right.

Add manpower and material to a Fragnet Step
1. This icon in the fragnet step header shows the assigned amount of manpower of this fragnet step.
2. Select the Fragnet Step.
3. Click on the edit icon
on the toolbar.

4. Change the manpower assigned to this fragnet step.
5. Scroll down to the materials section.

6. Select the materials you want to add to the fragnet step via the cheboxes.
7. Click on „Insert Selected“.

8. To assign a quantity, click into the the „Forecast Quantity“ column and type in the assumed quantity.
9. Click on “Save” to save the changes and proceed.

Fragnet Steps in the PP
Shift to the right in all Takt Zones
1. Select a fragnet step from which start date you want to shift all fragnet steps in all takt zones one day to the right
2. Click on “Shift Fragnet Steps to the right in all takt zones”.
